Hello and thank you for visiting my website! I am a board certified massage therapist, doctor of physical therapy, and a faculty member at the Cortiva Institute. In my practice I am seeking patients and clients who have personal goals for pain reduction, improved function, or a high level of performance. Every session is tailored to my patient's or client's specific needs. I am experienced with developing strategies to accomplish patient and client goals using a combination of Swedish massage, neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, and deep tissue techniques along with physical therapy approaches that emphasize application of the science of the Postural Restoration Institute in combination with Applied Functional Science developed by the Gray Institute. No two massage sessions are the same because I continuously adapt my approach according to the quality and response of the soft tissue that I am evaluating. Similarly, no two physical therapy sessions are the same because each individual has unique biomechanical issues.
My massage training included a strong emphasis on myofascial and neuromuscular techniques, including trigger point therapy. I acquired additional soft tissue mobilization skills during my training in physical therapy school. Every year I have far exceeded the continuing education requirements for massage and physical therapists in order to build on my expertise in skillfully applying advanced techniques for exceptional results. My professional memberships include the American Massage Therapy Association, Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals and the American Physical Therapy Association. In addition, I earned a board certification in therapeutic massage and bodywork, the highest credential in the field. I am also certified in the Applied Functional Science (CAFS) principles, strategies and techniques. In order to enhance my therapeutic skills and understanding of musculoskeletal conditions, I completed the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree program at A. T. Still University; I graduated at the top of my class and earned the Outstanding Research Project Award.
My emphasis is on quality and results, not quantity. I consider it a privilege to be able to help people to feel better and move better. You will find that I am passionate about addressing the causes of musculoskeletal pain, weakness, and dysfunction to ultimately improve the resiliency and quality of life of my clients over the long term.
